Vibing While Working: Building the best workplace for your sanity

Growing up I’ve worked my share of jobs. From making burritos at Taco Bell to traveling the country throwing events for big name companies. I have worked with different cultures, environments, systems, and most importantly PEOPLE.  Any job you have, people are the main ingredient when doing a job successfully. This can come in communicating with employees and co-workers or giving the fake smile to customers when trying to keep your cool. As we all know the workplace comes with many different faces, opinions, and personalities. These different elements can sometimes lead to workplace stress, anger, and just all around resentment. We spend most of our time at work, so we should be in an environment that is comfortable for us to perform and do our job well.  Like a friend once told me, “ A job should be used as a TOOL to get where you want. Use it. Don’t let it use you.” As a FORMER job connoisseur I’ve learned how to use my tools and not let external influences like customers and employees take away from my pursuit of happiness. Here are a few tips on building the best workplace to vibe to.

Always remember your WHY for having a job

When having a bad day, remind yourself why your working at your job. You may love the work you do or the job is used for something bigger.Keep your why on your side and don’t let anybody take it away.

Stay out of workplace gossip

Gossip is messy. Doing it in the workplace can not only stunt your growth at work but also build a lousy reputation that nobody respects. Spend your time speaking good into yourself verses speaking bad about others.

Interact with people on your level

WE all know co-workers and customers with bad attitudes. LEave miserable people alone and connect with people who have similar aspirations and attitudes towards life as you do.. Connect with those who know their WHY and are giving out positive vibes and not headaches.

Breathe more than you think

Challenges and people at work can sometimes keep us at a standstill with our progress. Simple breathing exercises can reset our thoughts and mood into what we see fit for our day. When dealing with difficult challenges, customers, and co-workers take a few deep breaths to center yourself and be the great person you are!
